About the Book
We all have a hard time waiting. Waiting at red lights. Waiting at the doctor’s office. Waiting in line at the store. Waiting nine months to have a baby. We are not patient people by our nature. We are an instant society.
In Psalm 40:1, David encourages us by saying: “I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.”
What a challenge we can receive from this passage of Scripture! Our timetable is not the same as God’s. God wants us to be totally and completely given to Him. He wants us to constantly be in an attitude of prayer, so that He can constantly be working in us and through us.
God gave me this study as an encouragement that He is always there. We don’t take the time to wait on Him and we miss the blessings that He has for us. But if we will just slow down and talk to Him and listen to Him, His blessings will come and we will find the joy of His presence in the midst of our circumstances.
He has something special that He wants you to learn. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you! Then get ready to know Him as you have never known Him before. Wait patiently for the Lord.
This book is designed to be used as a weekly Bible study or Sunday School Curriculum. It goes verse by verse and sometimes phrase by phrase through Psalm 40.
All Scripture references are in the King James Version.
